Steady Cam

This page is dedicated to my home made steady cam, which is based on the frugal floater but with my modifications.

I got my parts from Dealextreme

* FOTOMATE LP-01 Aluminum Alloy Macro-Turning Long-Type Tripod Head DSLR
* Resin Hot Shoe Bubble Spirit Level for DSLR/SLR Cameras
* Exercise Skipping Steel Wire Jump Rope - Black + Blue + Silver (2.8m)
* Universal joint is from a Traxx Model racing car kit.
and a lot of 15mm plumbing pipe plus joints and some washers
make up the rig.

I used a skipping rope handle that had a built in bearing to make my life easier.

As you can see in the above pic I used a T intersection for the
counter balance weights. Since I'm still balancing the rig time will tell
if this is a good idea or not.
