Hi, I've been working on the Tropfest entry and have adapted a script from Beautiful Robot at http://www.beautifulrobot.com/maxScript.htm that was called openNexter.
The script will allow you to change settings on a lot of files. It may be a bit limiting to a lot of you, as it changes the frame rate to 25 f/s the pal format. It allows you to pick which renderer and its size and animation range.
It remembers the paths you choose in an ini file which needs to go in your maxroot folder
ie C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\3ds Max 2010.
We need this as we had 130 files that needed changing but which allowed a pause between each file just in case we had other changes we needed to make that this script didn't cover.

If you need it customised to suit your own needs, and the change isn't huge, let me know and I'll adapt it for you.
